Pastel on Canson Mi-Teinte 'Tex' paper - 55cm x 35cm approx. The grey box eucalyptus trees are currently in blossom where I live, and are absolutely abuzz with bees! Honey being manufactured by the gallon!!!! This is a commission for someone who requested a flowering gum with some raindrops as a retirement present. I hope they like it!!! When I commenced this painting it was very hot! I had the branch of blossom pinned up in my studio and was spraying it with water to get the droplet effect. Every now and then I gave myself a squirt in the face too!

Painted predominantly with "Rusty Tone":http://abetterpastel.com/index.htm handmade pastels which were a recent birthday present. These pastels are manufactured by Australian RedBubbler "Leigh Rust":http://www.redbubble.com/people/wildatart, and I found them great to use, especially for layering. This is a similar scene to one I did for a painting which I donated to an auction awhile ago, except that version was half the size and I used Colourfix Gold paper.
