Pastel on Canson Mi-Teinte 'Tex' Paper (burgundy) 55cm x 35cm approx. I did this from reference material obtained during a trip to Jamieson, near Mansfield, Victoria. This is known as the 'Jamieson Look Out Track' and it is pretty hair raising to drive through!!! After a couple of hours of white knuckles gripping my seatbelt, I was most relieved to see civilisation again! I snapped some photos through the windscreen and there was a lot of artistic licence involved in the final outcome.

Pastel on Canson paper (blue/smooth side) - 50cm x 35cm This is a painting from several years ago when I paid a visit to South Australia. "Hans Heysen":http://nga.gov.au/Exhibition/HEYSEN/ (1877-1968) is a very well known Australian Artist, probably best remembered for the way he could paint the eucalypt tree. I visited his home and studio set in Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. It was incredible to sit beside this pool of water and take some notes and photos to enable me to paint this painting later on when I got home. It felt sort of 'spiritual' to be among the trees he used in his paintings. Pastel on Mi-Teinte 'Tex' paper (Burgundy) - 50cm x 35cm *SOLD from the Old Courthouse Gallery, Seymour - February 2012* This was painted 'en pleine aire' on an over-cast day a couple of weeks ago, when the Seymour Art Society had a 'Paint Out' at Anzac Hill, Light Horse Park, Seymour. We had a really great day, painting in the open air as a group. I finished this small work on the day, and all that was required was to jazz up the foreground grasses in the studio this afternoon to liven it up a bit. It was also necessary to smudge out the raindrop marks, as it started to rain as we were leaving!!! There were also a few ant footprints! This is the beautiful Jamieson River in Victoria. Pretty close to my home, so I have camped and painted here often.

Pastel on Art Spectrum Colourfix paper (burgundy). Walking through the Australian bush where I live after rain had been falling overnight, I noticed how wonderful these leaves looked with jewel like raindrops scattered over them.

Pastel 75cm x 55cm approx. The beautiful Trawool Valley is situated between Seymour and Yea, in Central Victoria, Australia. It is a wonderful area that would inspire any artist. It has enormous rugged rocks scattered around, great gum trees and the Goulburn River flowing through.

Pastel on Canson 'Tex' paper (Sand) -60cm x 40cm approx. This silver coffee pot, oriental vase and old willow plate have been handed down through the family, and I thought they would make a good still life!

Pastel on Canson 'Tex' Mi Teinte sanded surface paper - Burgundy 75cm x 55cm The area of High Camp is situated between Lancefield and Seymour, Victoria. It is a magnificent piece of Aussieland! This is the view looking towards Tallarook. It is rich grazing land, so I thought I would include a few sheep to add depth and perspective. I used photos as a reference taken during last year's holiday at Marengo, near Apollo Bay.
