Description: Old Wooden Wheels Left Behind on a Trail by Debra Martz While walking this trail and trying to find something of interest to add to the sunset I came upon these old wooden wheels; possibly from some type of wagon or cart from years ago. Description: Bug Lighthouse Portland Maine by Debra Martz It was a cloudy, windy, and rather cold day but that atmosphere added to the overall mood of this image of Bug Light aka South Portland Breakwater Light. The lighthouse was originally built in 1855, as a wooden structure, replaced with a classical iron structure in 1875. The light was fully restored in 1989 and was reactivated in 2002. It appears as a private aid to navigation in the US Coast Guard Light List as South Portland Breakwater Light. Construction of the fortress in the distance was started around 1858. By the time it was finished in 1864, the manner in which it was built was obsolete. ©Debra Martz, All Rights Reserved
Description: Great Tailed Grackle Shimmers in Iridescent Color by Debra Martz Their black, blue and purple feathers are beautiful iridescent in the daylight but their voice can be ear-piercing! Description: That moment when I walked into a bird blind and wondered why there were no birds! And then looked to the right and saw this little gray fox entering the area! This is in the Hill Country Area at the South Llano River State Park near Junction, TX. A great state park if you enjoy bird and wildlife watching, and nice hiking trails.

Description: Lace Iron Work Over Felix's Oysters by Debra Martz I enjoyed an early morning walk on Bourbon Street and other French Quarter Streets nearby while there were no crowds. While on this stroll, I took pictures of my favorite signs and several are places I actually went to later. Description: Flag of Greece by Debra Martz........................... From many areas around Athens, the Greek flag can be seen waving in the wind atop the Acropolis. After seeing it so many times before arriving at the Acropolis, I knew I had to get a photograph of it alone against the sky. "History of the Greek Flag The current flag was only officially adopted by Greece on December 22, 1978.An earlier version of the Greek flag had a diagonal cross in the corner instead of the square one now used. This version of the flag dates back to 1822, just after Greece declared its independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1821. Meanings and Symbolism of the Greek Flag The nine stripes are said to represent the number of syllables in the Greek phrase "Eleuthe...

Description: Formations and Reflections - Lake Powell by Debra Martz We took the fabulous boat tour to the Rainbow Bridge which is one hundred miles round-trip. It was a gorgeous day in late August with beautiful blue skies and water. We left from the Wahweap marina in Arizona, soon passed through a manmade channel into Utah, where most of the boat ride took place. There area many buttes, formations along the way. Some are named, but many are not. Copyright Debra Martz 20180829-DSC_5903.N
Description: The Old Mississippi Bridge at Vicksburg by Debra Martz We were traveling westbound on the Vicksburg Bridge on I- 20/Hwy 80 across the Mississippi River between Delta, Louisiana and Vicksburg, Mississippi. Running parallel with it is the Vicksburg Old Highway 80 Bridge built in 1930, a one-of-a-kind, where highway and railroad tracks run side by side through the truss structure. The old bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. We've traveled this route many times over the years, so I was planning to get a picture of the high point of the old bridge where the USA flag flies and the Louisiana state line sign is posted on the newer bridge.
Description: Underneath Bob Hall Pier - Padre Island by Debra Martz Bob Hall Pier is part of Bali Park located on north Padre Island, Corpus Christi, TX. It extends 1240 feet out into the Gulf of Mexico. It is a great place for fishing. There is also an open air restauarnt (just overhead from where I shot this image) so you can enjoy good food and the seabreeze. In inclimate weather, glass roll down garage type windows can protect you from the elements while you still enjoy a nice meal and view. Update: the restaurant is all that now stands after the last restaurant.
Description: “Cruising Along Eyjafjordur Iceland” Eyjafjordur, the longest fjord in Iceland, spans more than 40 miles (60km) from its mouth near the Arctic Circle to Akureyri. On the cruise in the fjord, we were lucky enough to see several whales, but I didn’t have a camera in hand during those wonderful sightings. 20250523-DSC_2046
Description: "Grackle Perched on a Rail" This female Great-tailed Grackle appeared to be deep in thought as it gazed out across the marsh from the railing on the boardwalk. It was 30 minutes after sunrise, and I was still seeing the effects of the golden morning light.
