Guernsey Mystery - Solved! Number of views as of 8th May 2019 = 470. One of the island of Guernsey's unusual architectural features is this structure which crosses La Route de Carteret, just inland from Cobo Bay. Despite searching the web, I was unable to find out why it was built or what it is/was used for. However, thanks to my friend pix-elation, I now know that it was built to allow children from the manor house at nearby Saumarez Park to walk to Cobo Bay without having to cross the road. So much less conventional than a zebra crossing! Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands. Date: 21st August 2014. View my Channel Islands collection here. View my Channel Islands calendar here.
