Constant T-Shirts
Description: In 1849, French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr wrote “plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose,“ which translates to "the more things change, the more they stay the same." Greek pre-Socratic philosopher Heraclitus once said, “the only constant in life is change.” And in 1981, the Talking Heads said, "same as it ever was." If you think about it, they're all right, and really just saying the same thing, as things are always changing, but still staying the same, as change is constant. Or something.
Description: Three convicts, Pete and Delmar led by Ulysses Everett McGill, escape from a chain gang and to retrieve a buried treasure before the area is flooded to make a lake. The three get a lift from a blind man driving a handcar on a railway. He tells them they will find a fortune, but not the one they seek. The trio make their way to the house of Wash, Pete's cousin. They sleep in the barn, but Wash reports them to Sheriff Cooley, who, along with his men, torches the barn. Wash's son helps them escape.
