Description: Right place at the right time for this one, I think. What you unfortunately cannot see in this picture is just how close to the Golden Gate Bridge this Western Red tailed Hawk actually was. I was just about to walk under the bridge when I saw it out of the corner of my eye, seemingly just hanging there. I'm told by the San Francisco Bird Observatory that this is a youngster in it's second year, which apparently you can tell by the colour of its eyes. Description: During their display, the Red Arrows split in to two groups ... Enid is the 5 ship formation and Gypo the remaining 4. Here we see Enid pulling out of a manoeuvre known as Python at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire in 2019. I wasn't sure how this would look against an overcast sky. It is better than I thought. Description: Don't be deceived by those clear blue skies. These poppies were taking a battering in high winds in North West England in June 2011 when the picture was taken. The Corncockle which can also be seen in there are far more sturdy. They opend up a few days later. Such a shame that the poppy only blooms for such a short period of time. Sony DSC-HX1
