The Airbus A380 waits ominously in the background ,as the other 8 little red birds pass by, before letting her massive presence be felt on the runway. Farnborough is probably one of the few places in this country where you can get up so close to the runway and both observe and feel the presence of the A380. It will blow you away ... well give you a nudge anway. The Red Arrows - everybody knows the worlds greatest precision flyers. This was a lucky catch for me, having the two together. Description: Another view of The Golden Gate Bridge. Again,taken on a hot sunny day, from the trail above the beaches. 27 and 28 May 2012 saw the 75th anniversaries of Pedestrian Day and the opening to traffic (respectively) of the Bridge. From sea level to the top of the towers is just shy of 755 feet. Each tower has an estimated 600,000 rivets. It is said there have been over 1.75 billion crossings since then. In 1994 The Golden Gate Bridge was named one of the Seven Civil Engineering Wonders of the United States by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Description: Re-load This was taken on 1 October 2011. Grass seed was being sown. Temperature in the mid to high 20's (Celsius). I always seem to have been busy in previous years and always miss them working the land on this farm. They don't hang around, just get the job done. Description: A USAF Raptor out of Alaska, making a rare appearance on British soil. The 195th and final Raptor left the production line at Lockheed Martin in Mid December 2011. Description: Mayweed is a native annual or biennial weed of arable or waste land. When the sun goes down the petals all fold neatly down as seen here. Once the sun hits them again in the morning they gradually unfold and look quite similar to the daisy in appearance. Some differences between this and the United States Boeing machine - This has folding rotors so you can fold it away and push it in to the back of a C-17 and ship it anywhere in the world. Rolls Royce powered, giving 25% more power than the US General Electric engine. Currently restricted by the transmission system ... but the Brits are working on it.

Description: Some of my Dorset Naga. To give an idea of how hot these are, imagine a jalapeno, now multiply how hot that is by 120 -125 times. They're a bit hot and if cut in to should be handled with gloves. Even the dried seeds from which these were grown had a warning on the packet.
