Description: A fashion illustration inspired by the Jackalope, a cryptid described as a jackrabbit with the horns of an antelope. Takes of this creature are found throughout the American West, as well as Lake Superior. They are said to be rare, dangerous to hunters, and have the ability to mimic the human voice, other animals, and even a chainsaw. My design was inspired by tales of the Jackalope from the American West, and consists of a sage green cotton petticoat dress with brown leather button up boots and corset belt, turquoise and silver Jackalope jewelry, and a brown leather Jackalope headband. Hungry Jackalopes munch on prickly pear cactus fruit, one of their favorite foods, to create the border.

Her name is Sanskrit and means “beauty”, “splendor” or “bestower of wealth”, and is an alternate name for the Hindu goddess Lakshmi.

It is derived from 18th century Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus, who developed the Linnean system of classifying plants and animals.

Description: Isla is a fashion illustration wearing my original design, a maxi dress featuring a long-sleeve turquoise bodice with cutouts, and a faux wrap skirt with a high slit and multi colored vertical stripes, paired with matching high heeled sandals. “Isla” is a name of Scottish or Spanish origin. In Spanish it means “island”, while it Scotland it can refer to the River Isla, or the island of Islay in the Hebrides.

Ilona is a Hungarian name meaning “shining light” or “joy”. It is also the name of the Queen of the Fairies in Hungarian folklore.

Description: Elara is a fashion illustration wearing my original design, a form fitting royal blue dress with a bronze overlay inspired by wrought iron scrollwork, and matching ankle boots. In Greek mythology Elara was a mortal woman who became a lover of Zeus. The name is associated with light, brightness and radiance. It is also the name of one of the moons of Jupiter.

Description: A fashion illustration inspired by the Yeti, an ape-like cryptid from the Himalayan mountains in Asia. Described as a bipedal, very muscular creature, covered in shaggy hair, and ranging from 3 to 9 feet in height, the Yeti has played an important part in the folklore of the region for centuries. There are a number of more recent sightings reported by mountain climbers as well, with evidence ranging from casts of footprints to videos, photographs, and even hair samples. While some of these have been proven to be hoaxes, others remain inconclusive, as so the mystery of the Yeti remains. My design was inspired by the Yeti’s wintry mountain home and shaggy fur.
