Description: Old Wine on Vintage Chevy by Debra Martz A drive through Sisterdale, TX is like a throw-back in time. It's a small little town, so stop and walk around to appreciate the vintage finds! This old Chevy truck with the old wine barrels (think there is any old wine in them) marks the location of the Sister Creek Vineyards.
Description: Blue Dragonfly by Debra Martz I was on one of my regular bird watching outings but not many birds to bee seen on this particular day. As I was leaving a place called Paradise Pond in Port Aransas, TX I spotted this beautiful dragonfly on this single stem rising above the water. I'm not sure which type it is, maybe a Blue Dasher. If you know its ID, please note in the comments. Thank you for looking!
Description: Pharmacist On Duty by Debra Martz Even inside this pharmacy they kept the feel of olden days with displays on wooden shelves of remedies and cures! And I liked that slogan...."Sometimes you need a bitter pill to swallow", too! Found while walking the main street in Kanab, Utah. Copyright Debra 20180825-DSC_5103-ET
Description: Scissor-tailed Flycatcher the Oklahoma State Bird by Debra Martz I had spent quite awhile watching one of these from the end of a boardwalk but it was off a ways in the distance. I waited and waited for it to take flight but no such luck. Then as I was leaving, at the far other end of the boardwalk I looked up to see this beauty perched above me on a vine that was spreading over the top of a Live Oak Motte. The range of the state bird of Oklahoma is much of south-central United States and spends it winters in Mexico and Central America. I captured this one in early March on Padre Island at Corpus Christi, Texas.
Description: Scissor-tailed FlycatchJust as I turned off Oklahoma hwy 38 onto the gravel road that leads to the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge, I had the treat of Scissortails on both side of the road. I preferred this side with the golden fall grasses as a backdrop as the other side they were on power lines. They are the Oklahoma State Bird yet they are also a migratory bird and will be heading south soon. Captured Oct. 15th in northern Oklahoma. ©Debra Martz, All Rights Reserved In My Gallery/Collection: "Feathered Friends" 20201015-DSC_1016.NEF
Description: Inside Looking Out The interior of The Chapel of the Transfiguration was sited and built to frame the Cathedral Peaks in the window just behind the altar. Stepping inside this chapel and seeing this altar with the beautiful scene behind it instantly soothed my soul. The Chapel of the Transfiguration was built in 1925 and is located just inside the southern part of The Grand Tetons National Park. At the time it was built, the National Park had not yet been established. It is still, though seasonally, an active Episcopal Church with services on Sundays and many wedding vows are exchanged here as well. In 1980 it was placed on The National Register of Historic Places. This image is copyright by Debra Martz. All associated rights a...
