Description: This was a graphic drawing that I had had in my mind for a while. It was completed in a blue watercolour paint and black acrylic ink. I liked the idea of making a kind of pattern of the branches of the trees behind the leaping hare. The only other tiny touch of colour is the orange in the eye of the hare.
Description: This is the famous scene in the classic book 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Bronte when Cathy's ghost comes to the window begging to be let in. This is done mainly in pen but I added in a little pencil work to make the ghost look softer and less real and the snow is done in white goache paint. I have worked it up on yellow paper.
Description: This is one of my hand drawn cartoons, which I made as a christmas card a few years back. It's simply line work and water colour paints. I used a red marker for the bright reds. I was coming at this idea from the angle of a turkey. Everyone seems to love christmas but there are a few who don't care much for it.
Description: This is a little, cosy town house in the depth of winter. I used a printing technique for the body of the house and painted in the windows in black and white acrylic. There is a little bit of pastel in the roof and the rest is hand painted in acrylics. The grey background is a water colour wash.
Description: This is the Aesop's Fable 'The Peacock and the Crane' encapsulated in one drawing. The peacock had been admiring himself asked the crane how he could live with looking so drab. The crane reminded the peacock that although his tail was a fabulous sight, it also caused him great problems in flight, whereas the crane could soar above countries and cities and the peacock could not. I designed this in the shape of a church window and with an old English type face which can be found in churches to give a nod to the morality and wisdom of the Aesop's tales.
