Description: Lumière is an island out in the ocean, having been fractured off from the rest of the world 67 years ago. 67 years ago (year 100 on the monolith countdown), the world saw an upheaval in what became known as The Fracture. A part of Lumière was cast off into the ocean, getting cut off from the rest. However, this proved to be a silver lining, allowing the remaining inhabitants to build up its defenses—known as the Dome Shield—against Nevrons that had also appeared during the Fracture.
Description: Monoco's Station is a Location in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. In Monoco's Station, players will be introduced to Monoco, a shapeshifting Gestral. With some convincing and a lot of fighting, he agrees to join your team to set off to Old Lumiere. Although Monoco's Station is a smaller location, it is filled with Grandis NPCs that players can interact with to get more information on this area, some may be found in other Locations or while exploring The Continent.

Every year for the past 67 years, the people of the isolated island of Lumière have suffered an event called the "Gommage", where an entity, known as "the Paintress" (voiced in English by Tracy Wiles), paints an ever-decreasing number on a rock formation known as the Monolith, and all humans with an age equal to or above that number disappear. Every year after the Gommage, Lumière sends an expedition of volunteers to head to the mainland in an effort to slay the Paintress before she can paint a new number. Expedition 33 is the latest to set out.
