Description: Coronet Durasteel was a company represented by an official in Coronet Spaceport on Corellia. When the planet was invaded by the reconstituted Sith Empire, Coronet Durasteel was quick to ally itself with the Sith. Other Corellian companies did not yield to the Empire, however, and despite Coronet Durasteel's efforts to persuade them otherwise in a bid to appease their Imperial overseers, companies such as Czerka Corellia, the Corellian Engineering Corporation, and Corellia StarDrive did not fall to Imperial persuasion until resistance was crushed by Imperial forces coordinated by Darth Charnus, the apprentice of Darth Decimus, who was leader of the Imperial occupation.
Description: Corellian Masternav, Incorporation was a Corellia based company that was renowned for producing highly accurate astrogation maps. They used droidships to conduct survey missions. App. 1 year after the Battle of Yavin a Corellian Meatlump gang started firing warning shots at Masternav's astrogation surveyor ships, followed by extortion attempts, demanding payments to "protect" Masternav's ships. In the absence of adequate police involvement, Masternav commissioned an independent agent to destroy the gangster base and protect their business.
Description: Bornaryn Trading was a company that was co-founded and co-owned by Bornan Thul and his wife, Aryn during the Galactic Civil War. After Bornan's death in 24 ABY, Aryn become sole owner of the corporation, although Bornan's brother Tyko helped her to maintain the conglomerate's operations. Prior to the Swarm War, Bornaryn Trading purchased a controlling interest in the long-running droid manufacturing corporation of Industrial Automaton, following the release of that company's R9-series astromech droid.
Description: The University of Byblos was a prestigious college based in one of the city towers of Byblos. It was one of the most respected institutions of learning in the Colonies and had a great variety of departments, including advanced hyperspace theories, alien languages, and intergalactic archaeology. During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the number of students enrolled at the university was about two million. There were also approximately 100,000 professors on staff.
Description: Blackwater Systems was a company opened on the planet of Falleen sometime before 24 BBY by the criminal Granta Omega and scientist Jenna Zan Arbor as a research and development facility for the Zone of Self-Containment drug. The company was known for ignoring environmental and safety laws, and was the target of a protest group that attempted to expose its illegal actions. In 24 BBY, several Jedi infiltrated Blackwater's factory, and Omega chose to destroy it rather than let his work be discovered.
Description: Binary Star Realty was a company that existed during the Galactic War that sold housing. Binary Star Realty first appeared as part of the Cartel Market in Star Wars: The Old Republic: Galactic Strongholds, a expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic released by BioWare in 2014.
Description: Bakiska's was a data repeater service that operated on the planet Lothal during the Age of the Empire. Bakiska's was known to operate a data warehouse in Capital City's Lower Gallo area. The Vocational School for Institutional Security student and rebel sympathizer Merei Spanjaf maintained an account with Bakiska's. After the Imperial authorities managed to track down one of the snooper programs she had used during a data breach at the Imperial Transportation Ministry, Merei and her classmate Jix Hekyl toyed with the idea of deleting her account at Bakiska's.
Description: AestheTech Incorporated was a beauty company in business during the Cold War and Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. They were the producers of the Appearance Designer, a device that could alter any part of the body. While the technical specifications of the Appearance Designer were a well kept secret, all major galactic medical and safety organizations had approved of it.
Description: The Kessel Run was a 20-parsec route used by smugglers to move glitterstim spice from Kessel to an area south of the Si'Klaata Cluster without getting caught by the Imperial ships that were guarding the movement of spice from Kessel's mines. The Kessel Run was one of the most heavily used smuggling routes in the Galactic Empire. Han Solo claimed that his Millennium Falcon "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs".
Description: Raxus Prime was a highly industrial planet covered with immense factories, sealed living habitats, streams of superheated run-off water, rough-hewn quarry pits, vast debris fields, and toxic lakes. The surface was covered with junk droids that were cobbled together from the parts of the millions of discarded and broken droids left there. They followed no master and did not behave by any rules, which made the planet very dangerous. A common rumor was that the droids were working on something large so that they could escape Raxus Prime and spread out into the galaxy at large.
Description: Vanjervalis Systems was a manufacturer of computer systems for the Galactic Republic during the Mandalorian Wars. Gorman Vandrayk worked for Vanjervalis at some point. Several years prior to the war, it created the concept of the Vanjervalis Chain, which allowed a group of Hammerhead-class cruisers to be linked to a single Inexpugnable-class tactical command ship, developed by Rendili/Vanjervalis Drive Yards.
Description: CorDuro Shipping was a major trade corporation based in the Corellian and Duro sectors. It maintained a fleet of transports, many of these barely spaceworthy. The Duro-based concern also employed a relatively large (though poorly trained) security force at its main offices, located in the Duro orbital city of Bburru. The CorDuro logo was distinctively triangular, serving as an easy way to identify a constituent of its motor pool. Its vice-director was Durgard Brarun.
Description: Golan Arms was a company that produced the DF.9 turret placement, a model of fixed laser cannon emplacement. During the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic used Golan DF.9s on the planet Hoth during its fight against the Galactic Empire there. Golan Arms also produced the SP.9, a mobile artillery piece utilized by the Imperial Artillery Corps of the Galactic Empire.
Description: The Brotherhood of Darkness was a group of Sith that rose to power in the last decade of the Galactic Republic's Dark Age. Founded by Jedi Master–turned–Dark Lord of the Sith Skere Kaan, the Brotherhood took the place of the fragmented Sith Empire after slaughtering many of its most powerful lords. Forming the Dark Army, a force of warriors and soldiers meant to rain fire upon Republic worlds, the Brotherhood existed under the leadership of the Sith Council of Lords, constantly warring with the Jedi Order's Army of Light until both armies were utterly decimated at the Seventh Battle of Ruusan.
Description: The Ord Trasi salvage yards was located near the planet of Ord Trasi. The yards were used to dump decommissioned Republic warships. The Core Galaxy Systems dreadnaught Enforcer One was salvaged here by the gangster Bogga the Hutt. Conditions on the planet were favorable to a majority of the galaxy's citizens. Ord Trasi was a planet rich in natural resources: metals, minerals, ores and crystals. This allowed the planet to become a major shipbuilding world. Space platforms completely encircled the planet, defended in turn by a number of defense platforms. Mining and smelting was carried out by droid labor on the planet's two moons.
Description: Santhe Corporation, also Santhe Industries, was the overseeing holding company of the various Santhe and Sienar corporations. The two main subsidiaries of Santhe Corporation were Santhe Security and Santhe/Sienar Technologies. Through the latter company, Santhe Corporation also controlled Sienar Fleet Systems, Santhe Passenger and Freight, and Curich Engineering.
Description: Rendili StarDrive was a starship-manufacturing company based on the planet Rendili. One of the ancient Founding Shipwrights, it was the primary supplier of ships to the Republic Navy for millennia until it was eclipsed in the final centuries of the Galactic Republic by Kuat Drive Yards.
Description: The shipyards were open to all except House Melantha and House Pelagia vessels who were strictly forbidden from using the facility. All other house affiliations were welcome, but the prices depended on political favor. These shipyards were an alternative to the shipyards at Tallaan. Another major shipyard in the Tapani sector was the Fondor Shipyards in the Freeworlds Territory.
Description: Santhe/Sienar Technologies, owned by the Santhe Corporation, was a massive umbrella corporation based on the planet Lianna in the Tion Cluster that manufactures an exceptionally wide range of vehicles and weapons. Originally Republic Sienar Systems, Santhe/Sienar Technologies provided numerous starships for the Galactic Republic for many millennia. A short-lived subsidiary, Sienar Design Systems, produced the Sith Infiltrator. Though they denied any involvement in the ship's design, SDS was forced to shut down due to intense scrutiny from the Senate. A century before the Battle of Yavin, the Sienars united with the Santhe family, who owned Santhe Security, due to an arranged marriage.
Description: The Star Forge was a giant automated shipyard, designed to create the most powerful army of all time. It was constructed by the Rakatan Infinite Empire in 30,000 BBY, five thousand years before the rise of the Galactic Republic. The Star Forge drew energy and matter from a nearby star which, when combined with the power of the Force, was capable of creating an endless supply of ships, droids, and other war material. The Rakata, also known as "The Builders," constructed the massive space station through the use of slaves from many subject worlds including Belsavis, Corellia, Coruscant, Dantooine, Drall, Duro, Kashyyyk, Manaan, Selonia, Sleheyron, Malastare, and Tatooine.
Description: The Hast Shipyards were a major New Republic shipyard and repair center at the planet Hast which specialized in repairing damaged warships for combat duty. The yards were maintained as a secret yard for high-profile projects. The Hast Shipyards were chosen for a major refit and repair for the New Republic Imperial-class Star Destroyers Emancipator and Liberator. However, Imperial agents discovered the location of the shipyards. Shortly thereafter, a large Imperial fleet attacked the yards. It inflicted severe damage: besides heavy damage to the pair of Star Destroyers, twenty corvettes, five frigates, and seven MC80 Star Cruisers were put out of commission.
Description: The spice mines of Kessel, known as the Dark to veteran miners, were a series of labor camps on the planet Kessel, where slaves from various species, Wookiees among them, were forced to mine a medicinal spice mineral into a dangerous drug. Spice mining was extremely dangerous, and slaves were thus used as expendable labor. Life expectancy for humanoid species was two to three years, while Wookiees had an expected survival time of three months. The Yaruba Family of Kessel turned a blind eye to the harvesting of spice on their world, living in luxurious sanctuaries in the southern hemisphere of the planet, while the spice mining took place in the northern hemisphere.
Description: The Crazy 88 was O-Ren Ishii's personal army, under the leadership of Johnny Mo. The Crazy 88 have resided in Japan for an unknown amount of time as a major Yakuza gang. One year after the Massacre at Two Pines, O-Ren Ishii, with the help of Bill was able to take control of many major companies in Japan and became what Beatrix Kiddo referred to as the "Queen of Tokyo's underworld." With her financial power, she was able to gain leadership of the Crazy 88, and thus they were to follow her orders from then on.
Description: The Loronar Corporation was a major diversified firm based out of the Meridian sector with primary holdings in defense, droid, and mining operations. With a reputation for exceptional corporate greed, Loronar had a storied history of manipulation and exploitation in the pursuit of profit. For millennia, Loronar produced a wide variety of products, but was best known for its military hardware produced through its Loronar Defense Industries subsidiary. The Loronar range of products contained everything from infantry weapons to space stations. Loronar's products were sold to governments, mercenaries, private interests and any other party willing to pay the price.
Description: Biscuit Baron was a dining establishment owned by the House of Tagge through the Tagge Company's subsidiary Tagge Restaurant Association. With stores located on several planets throughout the galaxy, Biscuit Baron was, by the time of the Galactic Empire's prominence, the largest restaurant chain in existence. Sullust possessed one such establishment, as did Byblos Starport, Coruscant, and Commenor. Among the foodstuffs sold was the Bantha Breakfast Biscuit, its signature blue sauce, the alcoholic beverage ardees, and meal offers such as a QuickSnack, QuickSnackLite, and Jolly Meal.
