Several hundred outboards were ordered. As DuMonte had purchased the name and rights to the Champion outboard motor from Sig Konrad, they shipped with the brand name CHAMPION. From 1935 to 1939, Scott and Atwater still operated their tool and punch press business as well as building outboards. In 1939 DuMonte landed a contract with Firestone to sell the CHAMPION in their tire stores. Scott and Atwater turned to building outboards full time.

Bob Hammond, Bill Gaston, Bob Shoop, and Guy Woodard founded this company on October 14, 1956 in Austin, Texas. It was sold to Genmar Holdings in the 1990s and manufacturing was moved to Minnesota.[citation needed] Glastron is known for its boat hull design innovations, including the Aqualift and "SSV" hull designs, the latter of which is still in use today. Glastron's "Glastonbury" boats were featured in the James Bond film Live and Let Die. A boat chase was filmed in Louisiana around the Irish Bayou area. Twenty-six boats were built by Glastron for the film, of which seventeen were destroyed during rehearsals.

After leaving his family’s farm to pursue a career in electrical engineering and manufacturing he attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering for one year. Despite not receiving a formal degree until later in life, Carl became an electrical engineer and changed the standards for marine engines.

Description: It seems the Champion Outboard name has been around from 1927 through 1957. The story starts in 1927 with three gentlemen from St. Paul, Minnesota. Mr.Henry Dolan, Sig Conrad and Dutch Witch. In 1928 they sold the "Champion" name to Flour City Ornamental Iron Co. and they produced the motor in Minneapolis, Minnesota for many years. Champion Outboard Motor was really founded in 1935. Original founders were Stanley Grey and Earl DuMonte. Mr. DuMonte contracted with a small tool and punch press operation to manufacture their outboard.

Kiekhaefer designed motors that withstood the elements better than his competition and called the motor Mercury (taking advantage of the "Mercury" Motor Car popularity at the time) whilst adopting the logo of the Roman god Mercury.

Description: Alexander Lissiansky is the Engineer who invented the VoiceOGraph. On Dec. 31, 1940, Lissiansky, on behalf of Mutoscope, filed a US patent application to what we know as the VoiceOGraph. The manual for this first model is dated 1941, and the earliest surviving metal record is dated Feb. 1, 1941, perhaps dating the commercial introduction of the Voice-O-Graph in the US. The 1941 model included a walk-up configuration with a curtain. The microphone was a telephone handset, as it was in the Registon.
