Forest green and rust instead of the warmer tones in the rest of the set, giving this one a slightly different, more grounded feel.

Description: Rhinos feel ancient in a way the other Big 5 don't — like something that shouldn't still be walking around in 2026, and somehow is. Warm terracotta and stone grey, that single horn front and center. A quiet nod to an animal that's had to fight harder than most to still be here

Description: Built the lion out of triangles instead of lines — every facet of the mane catching light a little differently, like fur actually does. Amber, gold, burnt brown. He's not roaring, not mid-hunt, just still. Sometimes still is more powerful.

Description: Leopards are the hardest of the Big 5 to actually spot in the wild — they're built to disappear. Flipped that a bit here: gold instead of camouflage-brown, deep teal rosettes instead of black. Still unmistakably leopard, just impossible to miss instead of impossible to find

Big triangulated ears, a trunk that actually curves like a trunk, all in cool slate blue instead of the usual grey-brown you'd expect. Calm, not cartoonish.

Description: Cape buffalo don't get the same spotlight as lions or elephants, but ask anyone who's actually encountered one in the wild which animal they respect most. Kept this one dark — charcoal and deep red — heavy horns curling low. Understated, the way the animal itself is until it isn't

Description: Ankara prints don't do subtle — big shapes, bright colors, patterns that fill the whole cloth edge to edge. I wanted to design something in that same spirit: a burst pattern in red, green and gold that doesn't apologize for being loud.

Description: If you've spent time in Kenya, you've seen shuka cloth — that red-and-black check that shows up everywhere from markets to matatus. This design keeps that same bold checked color-blocking and adds a beaded-style triangle trim top and bottom, the way a lot of Maasai beadwork frames a piece. It's a nod to something I grew up seeing, not a copy of any specific cloth.

Description: I wanted something that felt like the ten minutes right before dark — when the sky goes orange to plum and the acacia trees turn into flat black shapes against it. That's really all this is: a sunset, a tree, a couple of birds heading home. No filter, just the shapes. If you've ever sat somewhere and watched a sky do that, this one's for you.

Description: There's a particular blue — deep, almost midnight — that shows up again and again in West African indigo-dye cloth, and this design is my attempt to hold onto that feeling. Rings of triangles, diamonds, and a compass star at the center, built the way a lot of these patterns are: symmetrical, deliberate, meant to be looked at slowly. It's not trying to be a yoga-studio mandala. It's closer to fabric than to flower
