Description: The G.R. Kinney Company was an American manufacturer and retailer of shoes from 1894 until September 16, 1998. The shoe concern was started by George Romanta Kinney, whose father ran a general store in rural Candor, New York. In 1894, at the age of 28, Kinney had saved enough to purchase a Lester retail outlet in Waverly, New York. Kinney succeeded by selling affordably priced shoes to working Americans, and by 1936, Kinney Shoes was the largest family shoe retailer chain in America, with 335 stores operating nationwide. In 1977, Kenney introduced their line of basketball shoes with a splashy campaign with a very '70s vibe, offering versions featuring Caucasian and African American basketball players dunking the ball.
Description: Written by Herbert, George, M.A. in the 1620s, King of Glory, King of Peace wasn't actually published until after his death in 1633. The work would go on to be a popular hymn for centuries to come in Christian churches around the world as one that praises the glory of Jesus Christ in no uncertain terms.
Description: Kidd Video (originally in development as Hot Rocks) is an American Saturday morning live action/cartoon that originally ran from 1984 to 1985. In the show, four teenage band members are taken into a strange dimension called "The Flipside" and become cartoon characters, forced to fight the Master Blaster and his gang, the Copy Cats. The show featured then-current music videos from various artists, making it a music video show within the show.
Description: The Kalashnikov Model 1947, more commonly known as the AK-47, is quite possibly the most widely used shoulder weapon in the world. The initials AK represent Avtomat Kalashnikova, Russian for “automatic Kalashnikov,” for its designer, Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov, who designed the accepted version of the weapon in 1947. The AK-47 was recognized as being simple to operate, rugged, reliable under trying conditions, and amenable to mass production. Built around a 7.62-mm round with a muzzle velocity of some 700 meters per second, it had a cyclic firing rate of 600 rounds per minute and was capable of both semiautomatic and automatic fire. It has been estimated that some 100 million AKs have been produced—fully half of them outside Russia.
Description: Gin is a distilled alcoholic beverage that derives its predominant flavor from juniper berries (Juniperus communis). It originated as a medicinal liquor made by monks and alchemists across Europe, particularly in southern Italy, Flanders, and the Netherlands, to provide aqua vitae from distillates of grapes and grains. Kabouter Jenever (Gnome Gin) was first distilled back in 1777 in Schiedam, Holland, and is believed to be one of the first commercially produced gins.
Description: Jungle Hunt is a side-scrolling action game developed and released for arcades in 1982. It was originally distributed as Jungle King, then quickly modified and re-released as Jungle Hunt due to a dispute over the player character's likeness to another character. Jungle King, along with Moon Patrol released a month earlier, is one of the first video games with parallax scrolling. The player controls an unnamed character moving through horizontally scrolling scenes to rescue a woman from cannibals by jumping from vine to vine, swimming a crocodile-infested river, and avoiding rolling rocks. In the rebranded Jungle Hunt, the player character is an explorer, sporting a pith helmet and safari suit in place of the loincloth-wearing character.
Description: When someone says the 'Joker is Wild,' they are usually referring to the joker as a wild card in a card game. A wild card is one that may be used to represent any other playing card, sometimes with certain restrictions. These may be jokers, for example in Rummy games, or ordinary ranked and suited cards may be designated as wild cards. A card that is not wild may be referred to as a natural card. Jokers, however, may also have other uses, such as being a permanent top trump. In life, it's always good to have someone who is your wild card, as they always keep things interesting. If you don't think you have a wild card in your circles, then perhaps said wild card is you? Stay wild, moon child!
Description: The Jiger was the first production all-terrain vehicle (ATV) ever produced. It was a six-wheeled amphibious ATV with differential steering via separate throttle control of its dual (left vs. right) chainsaw engines. The first Jigers were built-to-order in 1961 by JGR Gunsport in Toronto and were mass-produced by Jiger Corporation beginning in 1965. Despite strong demand, production of the Jiger ended in 1968 due to financial issues, with around, 3300 Jigers being built. An investment group bought Jiger out of receivership, renaming the company Versatrek, and continued to produce Jiger ATVs until 1971 when they too folded.
Description: The 1988 Jesse Jackson presidential campaign was Jackson's second time running for President of the United States. This time, his successes in the past made him a more credible candidate, and he was both better financed and better organized. Although most people did not seem to believe he had a serious chance at winning, Jackson once again exceeded expectations as he more than doubled his previous results, prompting many pundits to call 1988 "the Year of Jackson." Jackson, and eventual nominee Michael Dukakis, outlasted all other candidates to the final primaries, including California. Jackson came in second in delegates behind Dukakis, and beat future Vice President Al Gore, future President Joe Biden, and Dick Gephardt, among others.
Description: Watergate was a political scandal in the United States involving the administration of President Richard Nixon between 1972 and 1974 that led to Nixon's resignation. The scandal stemmed from the Nixon administration's attempts to cover up its involvement in the June 17, 1972 burglary of the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Washington, D.C., Watergate Office Building. As the evidence piled up and impeachment was looking to be inevitable, the public voiced their opinion on the matter. Shirts and bumper stickers using the 'Jail to The Chief' slogan, featuring various caricatures of 'Tricky Dick' behind bars, were without question the most popular.

IMI’s small arms remain some of the most popular in the world, with the Uzi submachine gun easily being the most recognizable model. Overall, the Uzi has the highest sales statistics of all modern submachine guns, worldwide, and remains a favorite among firearm enthusiasts because of its compact nature and reliability
Description: Released in 1987, into the Pandemonium is the third studio album by Swiss extreme metal band Celtic Frost. The album is vastly different from the band's previous work which cemented its late '80s avant-garde metal term; it is also a departure from the style found on the band's previous albums, Morbid Tales and To Mega Therion that Celtic Frost had become known for. However, it does have the recurring symphonic elements found on previous albums. The album has a more classic heavy metal style within the songs with elements of industrial, classical, gothic rock and doom metal. The album's cover image is a detail from the right (Hell) panel of The Garden of Earthly Delights, a triptych painted in 1504 by Hieronymus Bosch.

While we have no idea what the concept is, we think it's pretty safe to say that hallucinogenics will help make sense of it all.
Description: A chrome cyber knight with a rocket powered guitar in freakin' space? Yes, please! In Rock We Trust is the sixth studio album by American hard rock/heavy metal band Yesterday & Today, released in 1984. The album became the band's highest charting album at the time, reaching No. 46 on the Top 200 chart. Yesterday & Today formed as a cover band in 1972 in Oakland, California, with the lineup that would record the first album being cemented in 1974.
Description: Il mondo di Yor is a 1983 Italian science fiction fantasy film that follows a prehistoric warrior named Yor who comes to question his origins, particularly with regard to a mysterious medallion he wears. When he learns of a desert goddess who supposedly wears the same medallion, Yor decides that he must find her and learn his true identity. Along the way, he encounters ape-men, dinosaurs, and a strange futuristic society. The film was originally made as a four-part miniseries for Italian TV, but was given a worldwide theatrical release, where, despite less than stellar reviews, did very well in box office sales.
Description: The first Human Powered Speed Championships event was held in 1975, and have been held annually ever since. The events have been held in numerous locations, but the championships have almost always been hosted in sunny southern California. 1983's event was held in Irvine at Orange County International Raceway, where riders on bicycles, tricycles, and quadcycles came from around the world to compete, with a tandem team clocking the weekend's top speed of 57.90 mph.
Description: The wolf howling at the home has long been a symbolic image, and while wolves do indeed howl, it's a myth that they howl at the moon. Howling may be heard at night, but it's not a directed at the moon. Instead, it's used as a social rally call, a hail to hunt, or as a territorial expression. A howl can even help a lost wolf find its way home. A wolf separated from its pack uses a “lonesome howl” — a shortened call that rises in pitch. If answered, the wolf then responds with deep, even howls to inform the pack of its location. Additionally, individual wolves have different howls that can be heard and identified by other wolves up to seven miles away.
Description: Hot Dog…The Movie is a sex comedy ski film released in 1984. The film was somehow well received compared to its contemporaries and went on to gross over $17 million. The story focuses on Harkin Banks, a farm kid from Idaho who is also a skiing ace. He is headed to the freestyle skiing championships in California along with a runaway, named Sunny. He meets his adversary in the form of Rudy, a self-centered European skier who doesn't take a liking to Harkin or his new-found friends, led by veteran skier Dan O' Callahan. Harkin has many misadventures with Dan and his buddies, but doesn't lose focus in his attempt to become a world champion.
Description: The first big wave of skateboarding took place between 1959 and 1965, and then things kind of went quiet until major resurgence began in 1973 thanks to the introduction of urethane wheels. These new and improved composite wheels helped skaters ride faster and smoother, and coupled with the new dedicated trucks designed for skateboards, the second big wave of skateboarding was on!

Description: In the '70s, Americans smoked weed that came from south of the border, commonly Columbia. This cannabis was far less potent than today’s, as imported weed was a mixture of leaves, stems, flowers, and other plant parts, plus it lost much of its potency on the journey. The low quality product is what lead to home grown marijuana in the hills of Northern California and Southern Oregon in the '80s. This home grown cottage industry flourished, providing much of the product for the nation’s cannabis users by 1985. Quality, and likewise, potency, of American cannabis would continue to rise from here, as locally grown American weed contained less filler, and more flower, and focused on the curation of the unique strains available today.
Description: Founded in 1929 by John and Katherine Cooper in Holland, Michigan, Holland Motor Express operated a north-south line haul covering Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio. When Congress passed The Motor Carrier Act of 1935, requiring new trucking firms to obtain an operating certificate through the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC), Holland's routes were locked in with little worry about competition. "The Big Dutch Fleet" bought up smaller companies and took on their operating authority to expand their reach over the years, and before too long, were the largest trucking company in Michigan, and at one point, were even the biggest in the Midwest.
Description: Hemp is a botanical class of Cannabis Sativa cultivars grown specifically for industrial and consumable use that was first spun into usable fiber 50,000 years ago. Along with bamboo, hemp is one of the fastest growing plants on Earth, and also like bamboo, hemp be used to make a wide range of environmentally friendly products. It can be refined into a variety of commercial items, including paper, rope, textiles, clothing, biodegradable plastics, paint, insulation, biofuel, food, and animal feed. Despite hemp's limitless applications, the plant was first struck down by the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937, and then became a victim of the '70s 'war on drugs' in America due to its association with marijuana.
Description: Founded in 1954, Donruss initially produced confectionery, and later evolved into making trading cards. Sports themed cards were their initial offering, but later added entertainment and pop culture themed cards that really became their bread and butter. As skateboarding grew in popularity, Donruss created several sets of skateboarding themed trading card stickers with several wacky characters doing various tricks. 'Heavy Action' is from the 1976 set, and features a brutish creature jumping over the text in very '70s style.
Description: Hamburger: The Motion Picture is a 1986 sex comedy film about college dropout Russell Proco, who finds himself distracted by women who want to have sex with him. Proco has been expelled from multiple schools because of his sexual interludes, but was given a large trust fund that remains frozen until he earns a college diploma. Having run out of schools, Proco enrolls in Busterburger University, a fast food chain's franchisee training program where he can earn a diploma. High jinks ensue. Production began in 1985, and premiered in Los Angeles in January of the following year. Based on the premise alone, it's not too surprising that the film received overwhelmingly negative reviews, but hey, the sex comedy was a big deal in the '80s.
