Fort Misery Sketched is an art print I created using a colored pencil sketching technique. Fort Misery is the oldest log building associated with the the territory of Arizona. Originally built in 1863-1864 along the banks of Granite Creek (two blocks south of the museum) by a trader as a home and store. It was disassembled and reassembled on the museum grounds of the Sharlot Hall Museum in 1934.

The setting is an oyster farm on San Juan Island located in the Pacific Northwest. The farm itself is located just outside of Roche Harbor in a protected bay. This old building was being used as a storage facility and a focal point for customers purchasing oysters.
