Description: This painting is of the Kennecott Mill building in Wrangell - St. Elias National Park in Alaska. The mine operated from 1911 to 1938. We built a log cabin in McCarthy, a small town about 4 miles away from Kennicott, and spent a sunny day in November exploring the deserted mining town, and enjoying views of the majestic mountains and Kennicott, Root, and Gates Glaciers.
