Description: My brother loves hamburgers so much that he commissioned an oil painting from me of a hamburger for his dining room. So I invited his family for dinner, and made delicious hamburgers that were painting-worthy. We had a photo shoot of the best looking burger, and then I painted it. Description: This painting is of the Kennecott Mill building in Wrangell - St. Elias National Park in Alaska. The mine operated from 1911 to 1938. We built a log cabin in McCarthy, a small town about 4 miles away from Kennicott, and spent a sunny day in November exploring the deserted mining town, and enjoying views of the majestic mountains and Kennicott, Root, and Gates Glaciers. Description: This painting represents wisdom and flexibility. The white owl represents wisdom, the ability to see past illusions, and is considered to be a guide in the underworld. The Aspen trees represent flexibility. Standing tall, they sway with the wind. The name of this piece is Athena's Owl. This scenery is from an Aspen tree forest in McCarthy, Alaska located in Wrangell - St. Elias National Park. The sunset looks like a rose. This scene took place in October when the trees had already lost their leaves, and that's why the sunset was visible through the dense tree trunks. Description: I was about to board a boat to cross Kachemak Bay when I noticed the dramatic light hitting the Inua boat in the Homer boat harbor. The storm cloud was passing by, creating this surreal effect. Later I painted this oil painting in my studio using my photo as reference material. Description: During a hike in late Fall on the Winner Creek Trail, in Girdwood, Alaska, the sun was setting in the early evening, and creating beautiful light through the big trees, onto the green moss forest floor.
