Look for Doctor Jay, the author and publisher of over one-hundred books in libraries and schools in the upcoming year with his writer/publisher tour of the Midwest. The presentation, "Doctor Jay, and Guardians of Time" includes original music (and videos in large venue presentations). Reynold Jay says, "We are excited that Tammy will appear in the show as a time-traveling Guardian of Time. We must go on an adventure together in order to see that George Washington does not lie about chopping down the cherry tree! After all where would we be today if he told the lie, then we lost the revolutionary war? There should be something here for all ages. Music, dancing, and audience participation should make this a popular presentation."

Art by Duy Truong.Duy wrote that she had a great idea about a very different bedroom scene than others she had done before, This would be the last scene in our William Tell adventure. "She wrote, " I think it will be adorable. It will be a wonderful way to finish the book." When I saw it for the first time I fell in love with it. What do you think?........... That night I tucked in my little critters as I always did. William Tell had given me one of his arrows as a memento of our friendship and I placed it on the mantle along with the other trophies. Zeke ran his paw across it. "This is William Tell's arrow. We will never forget him, will we?" I said, "We will never forget him. He was truly a brave and courageous man." I tucked him i...

Art by Duy Truong. Cedric and Zeke raced Polly down the line with dozens of hawk riders trailing behind. They bumped heads with the rock and chain that has been so successful with the scarecrows. Soldiers tumbled from their horses like rows of dominoes. This went on for nearly two hours and I raised a blue flag. Confederates shouted down the embankment to the defeated enemy, "Throw down your weapons and ye lives will be spared!" There was little hesitation. Weapons dropped to the ground with a clatter. Our men moved the frontal barrier aside and the defeated Austrians walked through it. We led them to a meadow and had them sit. William Tell told me that Duke Leopold had not made it to the barrier. He and a few men were in the rear an...

Art by Duy Truong. William Tell infiltrates the enemy camp disguised as a scout. His mission is to lure the Duke into a trap set by the Swiss army.......................William Tell said, "Tarry, I say! I must reach Leopold as I hath important information on Arth. My steed broke down." The taller one said, "We are from Arth and hath an important message for Leopold, too." William Tell said, "They are building it up much more than we imagined." The short fat one said, "We found that out. We must make all haste." They hoisted him aboard and they raced off down the road. We flew on ahead as we wanted to be ready for a hasty departure for William Tell. We stood outside the tent so we could overhear it all. Leopold was discussing the ...

Art by Duy Truong....................The cover is always the last piece of art for our books. One can draw from the experience of illustrating the entire story; and then it is effortless to come up with a inspiring idea for a cover. It is viewed in an instant--Tammy, the apple,( and later we added William Tell with his crossbow.) All with a rainbow in the Swiss Alps. We could call this "Fantasy in Blue." if we wished--but we'll stick with the title on hand.

Art by Duy Truong. This is a key scene in the story of William Tell. We followed the road to that led to his castle and then we spotted him. The rain had let up a bit and we could see that Ingrid had stopped him at a narrow pass called Hohle Gasse. "Get out of the way, peasant!" Gessler shouted and nearly ran her down. Ingrid said, "You must know where to find my husband. You must help me!" Gessler laid the whip to her and pushed her aside. William Tell dropped on one knee to the muddy cobblestone and set his crossbow. He muttered, "Gessler will not help ye, Ingrid. I will be the one. May the devil find his soul before the dawn." He loosed his arrow and it sailed straight and true into Gessler's heart. The dead man slumped upon his...

Art by Duy Truong. This is our first piece of art for our newest book in the series. Duy is excited about this piece, as we all are here! Aunt May served hotcakes and sausages at the breakfast table. Lord Wixby gave me a good morning kiss as he always did and read the morning paper while he ate. Mark was wearing a strange outfit with suspenders and a feathered hat. It should have dawned on me that the space-time continuum had been disrupted again. However, I paid little attention to it until I opened the front door and saw that the town had a Bavarian look to it with cute little houses and pointed roofs. A pair of soldiers sat behind sandbags on the street corner wielding bows and arrows. Mark gave a salute and nudged me. "Tammy, you m...

Art by Duy Truong. Alfred said, "It happened in an instant. There was nothing anyone could have done. I imagine Cole's henchman was instructed to shoot Durango and when he didn't see him, he shot Ma." I cradled Ma Parker in my arms. I could see that she was alive. I took a look at the wound that appeared to be around the shoulder. "We need a doctor!' Someone said, "There is no doctor."

Place: Independence Hall: Philadelphia, PA. Time: July 4, 1776 Art by Duy Truong Tammy addresses the members of the second Continental Congress. I stood beside him ( Thomas Jefferson) in the center of the hall. "Thank you, Thomas Jefferson and good persons who have gathered to sign this historic document. I can stand here as a humble ten-year-old child and tell you that this may very well be the most important moment in the birth of a new nation. Of course I am honored to be here with you and will speak for the future generations that will benefit from your courage in affixing your signatures to the Declaration of Independence. I understand that you do all of this with regret only because of the injustices that have been thrust upo...

Art by Duy Truong..........William Tell sneaks into the enemy camp with a plan to lure the Duke into a trap.........Leopold said, "They are untrained farmers carrying pitch forks. They will not last long against my men. Numbers mean little." We heard a general's voice, "We must give this some thought." Another said, "The barrier they describe sounds formidable. We would lose many men breaking it down." We heard William Tell say, "That barrier will be formidable as it was designed by the Templar Knights." "Templar Knights?" several exclaimed. "They are our fiercest enemy!" William Tell said, "Everyone wonders how they disappeared. I am quite sure they arrived here with their fortunes not long ago. Since then, they hath armed and...

The Date: April 19, 1775 Place: Lexington, Massachusetts The Wurtherington Diary: Tammy and the Declaration of Independence Art by Duy Truong and Nour Hassan. Alfred said, “This is terrible. They are going to ignore one another! We must do something!” Then one of the officers broke rank and ran up to the minutemen shouting, “Lay down your arms you darned rebels!” Captain Parker could see it was a gesture meant to entice them into shooting at him. The seven hundred Regulars would wipe out the mere eighty minutemen quickly. It would be suicidal to fire. He told his men to lay down their arms and go home. Some began to turn. Others did not hear the command of his weakened voice. It was over. I had failed.... Suddenly a shot rang ...

Tammy and the California Gold Rush: Art by Duy Truong. We decided to do a test run and soon we were all flying around Kira. We found ourselves over Sakuna, the home of the Kakuna elves. I could see they were happy to see us flying overhead and decided to land in the center of the village. Chief Wanakuka and his wife, Lanacua ran down the balcony to greet us. They were amazed to see all of us flying upon Polly. She was a hit among the Kakuna and a large crowd gathered to admire her. Polly, of course, loved every minute of it. Lanacua said, "You must stay and have a luncheon with us." Zeke and Cedric were hungry ( they loved to eat all the time) and we agreed to stay. Picnic tables were set in the middle of the square and we found oursel...

The Wurtherington Diary: The California Gold Rush art by Duy Truong. Goldie tossed Mrs. Endicott into the water trough and that brought it to an end. Well, almost so. Goldie slipped and fell in horse dung and ended up with it all over her clothes and face. Mrs. Endicott ran down the street carrying what was left of her dignity and Goldie pushed back into the Sourdough Saloon. She grabbed a beer and splashed it over her head in an attempt to wash off the dung. She looked at me with pure hatred. "You pushed us out there and look at me!" The bartender handed her a mirror and held back a smirk. She took one look and cried, "I hate you!" and began hurling beer glasses at me. I grabbed a chair and fended her off as though she were a crazed s...

The Wurtherington Diary: The California Gold Rush art by Duy Truong Later that afternoon a young boy came running into the office. "You gotta help my dad. Jessie Cole and his men are tryin' to take over our claim." He had brought an extra horse and we rode with him out to the mine. He told us that he was Jim Endicott and that Will was his father. When we arrived, Cole's men were staging a gun battle with Endicott who was holed up in the mine shack with pistols and a shotgun. I told Cole to hold his fire and gave him time to show me the signed paper giving ownership of the mine to him. He said, "He's on my land and won't give it up." I said, "I am the sheriff. It is my job to evict him. I'll go in and talk to him. Tell your men to p...

The Wurtherington Diary: The California Gold Rush art by Duy Truong, Cedric said, "I hope this goes better than the last trip!" I hoped so too as it was a terrifying ordeal. A whirlwind swept all about us and the shed hurled into the air as though we were in the center of a tornado. When I opened my eyes, we were all standing on the balcony of the palace that overlooked the city. We all let out a sigh of relief that the trip went without any problems. Lucinda and Queen Betty greeted us. Alfred became a human as he always did when we returned to Kira. Kakuna elves served us gobble berry pastries and lemonade while we sat under scarlet parasols. Lucinda asked, "How was your trip today? I hope it was not the dreadful affair you encounte...

The Wurtherington Diary: The California Gold Rush art by Duy Truong. I said, "I'm ordering you to give up your guns before you get hurt." Mad Dog Zeke gave an icy stare. He growled, "Drop'm now or make your move." Onlookers held their breath as they ducked for cover behind barrels that lined the boardwalk. The trio pulled their weapons from the holsters and sent bullets flying toward us. Mad Dog Zeke and Rattlesnake Cedric ricocheted the flurry of bullets off the skillets. Guns flew from the trio's bloodied hands as their own bullets found fresh targets. I kicked their guns aside as they stood holding their mangled hands. I said, "Turn around, boys. The jail is that way." Fish Eye said, "I need a doctor." Wacko and Rio wrapped ke...

Tammy and the California Gold Rush: Art by Duy Truong. Alfred said, "Yes, this is going to be much better. You are dumping too much water into the bucket. You should skim off the water and then dump the gravel. We only have the one bucket, sir." "Of course," he said as he swirled the gravel around in the pan and then dumped the water back into the flume. He dumped the gravel into the bucket and something caught his eye. He reached into the bucket and pulled out a tiny nugget. "My, my," he said. "This is quite strange, indeed." He brushed it off and held it up to the light. "If I did not know any better, I would say this was a golden nugget." We all gathered around. I said, "I would not be surprised if it were gold." Alfred said, ...

Tammy and the Declaration of Independence: Book 2 The Wurtherington Diary. Art by Duy Truong Tammy shows General Washington her five pointed star. "It is nothing at all," she said. "Any child can make a perfect star and not give it a second thought." "We have a young lady here with us," said George Washington. "Tammy, is it as simple as that?" I grabbed a scissors and I seized a piece of paper lying on the table and began snipping." It is nothing at all." I handed him a perfect five pointed star. Betsy handed him one that she had cut. The officers with Washington held back their grins as best they could. One said, "General Washington, you have been out maneuvered by all this. I would bet that even the mouse agrees."

The Wurtherington Diary: Tammy and the Declaration of Independence Art by Duy Truong. I remembered the Liberty Bell housed in the tower. "I found a bell not far from here. I was told that it had a crack in it and that it has been repaired. Now you are afraid to ring it because it may crack once again. I say we go out and ring the bell of liberty and let freedom ring as it has never rung before. If it should crack again, I say we let it be, as it will remind future generations that we were not afraid to ring it and would not let a little thing like a crack in a bell or a king on a tiny island sway us from our resolve." "Hear, Hear!" With that we all pushed through the door and climbed the staircase that led to the Liberty Bell. Everyon...
