Description: This ocellated turkey is painted in a realistic style to capture his iridescent beauty of his feathers including the ones on his tail where his ocelli are located giving him his species namesake. He is native to Belize, Mexico and Guatemala. He has vibrant, bold, shiny colors all throughout his plumage in colors of blue, gold, green, bronze and black. He is strutting around proud to be the symbol of Thanksgiving. Makes a great gift for avid turkey lovers. Instagram@ Artbydebcamp Facebook@ Art by Deborah Camp
Description: “Youth for Settlement Strongholds. Keren Hayesod Jewish Youth Project.” (Hebrew.) Israel poster, circa 1946, published by Moriah Press, Jerusalem. Designed by Zvi Berger. Public domain, via PPPA. Zvi Berger (1935-1986) was born in Haifa. He graduated from the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem and was a graphic artist for Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael - the Jewish National Fund (KKL JNF.) This silkscreened poster was a recruitment/appeal to Jewish youth to support the establishment and defense of settlement outposts, by Keren Hayesod and youth movements. Using a variety of graphic design tools, I created a restored and enlarged reproduction of this historical Israeli poster, based on a rare photo of the original poster in an archive.
Description: “All 17-25 Year Olds - Serve the Nation.” (Hebrew.) A 1949 Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recruitment poster encouraging young people to volunteer for national service following Israel’s independence in 1948. Published by the IDF, artist unknown, public domain, via PPPA. This poster is part of the mass recruitment effort around Israel’s declaration of independence and the 1948-1949 War of Independence, when the newly formed authorities called on youth to register and volunteer. Using a variety of graphic design tools, I created a restored and enlarged reproduction of this historical Israeli poster, based on a rare photo of the original poster in an archive.
